Two Sikh Bravehearts Remove Their Turbans To Save Eight Men From Drowning!

These two Sikh men from Sangrur set aside religious code of conduct and took off their turban to save the lives of eight drowning youths who had gone to a canal for the immersion of the idol of lord Ganesha on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The heroic act of Inderpal Singh, 34, and Kamalpreet Singh, 25, using their turbans to save the lives of eight drowning youths at Sullar Gharaat village in the district went viral on social media on Tuesday after a video of the two surfaced. However, the incident occurred on Friday evening. The religious code of conduct doesn’t allow Sikhs to take off their turbans.

Inderpal and Kamalpreet were part of a group of devotees who had thronged Sullar Gharat village to immerse Ganesha idols in a canal. “First, five youths slipped into the canal while immersing the idols. They had fallen very near to the canal bridge and shouted for help. I immediately spotted a wire lying near the bridge and rescued two of them with the help of the wire. However, three others were still caught in a current,” said Inderpal.

“Then, three persons jumped into the canal to rescue the trapped trio. However, they, too, were caught in a whirlpool. Then I threw my nine-metre-long turban into the canal and pulled out three youths,” he added.

The footage of the rescue act appeared on social media after which the two were highly appreciated for what they had done. The rescued youths were identified as Inderpal Singh, Jiwan Singh, Kamalprit Singh and Inder Tiwari. Inderpal, one of the youth saved, said their saviour had first tried to pull them out with the help of a wire that was lying on embankment of the canal but it broke. He then used his turban.

Inderpal Singh’s life-saving act was similar to an incident that had taken place in New Zealand in May this year when Harman Singh, 22, had used his turban to save the life of a boy who bled from the head after being hit by a car in Auckland.

The Touching Story Of This Sikh Man Who Saved A Young Boy’s Life Using His Turban Will Surely Make You Believe In Karma

The turban is one of five articles of faith worn by Sikhs and is regarded as a symbol of strength and honour. Sikhs remove their turbans only in the privacy of their homes as a matter of respect towards it. But when religious is set aside to save the lives of people, the faith in humanity is restored.

NASA Finds Liquid Water On Mars. Could Life Also Exist On The Red Planet?

New findings by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) provide the strongest evidence yet that liquid water flows intermittently on present-day Mars. This is probably one of biggest finds of recent times that changes the way we look at our solar system. And our curiosity is piqued because the only other planet with liquid water is our very own earth! So is there a possibility of life existing on Mars today.

Using an imaging spectrometer on MRO, researchers detected signatures of hydrated minerals on slopes where mysterious streaks are seen on the Red Planet. They darken and appear to flow down steep slopes during warm seasons, and then fade in cooler seasons. They appear in several locations on Mars when temperatures are above minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 23 Celsius), and disappear at colder times.

Water flow on Mars

These dark, narrow, 100 meter-long streaks called recurring slope lineae flowing downhill on Mars are inferred to have been formed by contemporary flowing water.

Water flowing on Mars

Dark narrow streaks called recurring slope lineae emanating out of the walls of Garni crater on Mars. The dark streaks here are up to few hundred meters in length. They are hypothesized to be formed by flow of briny liquid water on Mars.

These puzzling features were discovered by Lujendra Ojha of the Georgia Institute of Technology, the lead author of a report on these findings. “We found the hydrated salts only when the seasonal features were widest, which suggests that either the dark streaks themselves or a process that forms them is the source of the hydration. In either case, the detection of hydrated salts on these slopes means that water plays a vital role in the formation of these streaks,” he said.

Muslim Man Breaks Religious Barriers, Performs Hindu Friend’s Last Rites

Religion has at times come in the way of love, happiness and friendship. But this time it wasn’t to win.

Rising above his religious beliefs and the faith he practiced, Razzak Khan Tikari, a resident of Chhattisgarh, did what only a few of us have the heart to do. Breaking all religious barriers Razzak, despite being a follower of Islam, performed Hindu rites for his deceased friend, Santosh Singh.

Singh who belonged to Harda area and was living with his family in Baitul, was suffering from critical health condition to which he succumbed on 20 September. He is survived by his wife Chhaya and their eight-year-old daughter.

Unable to arrange money to perform proper religious rites for her deceased husband, Santosh’s wife was helpless. At this time, Santosh’s friend for years Razzak came forward and took the responsibility of carrying out all the religious rites and to cremate the body of his deceased friend. Razzak, despite being a Muslim, never let religion come in the way of his friendship. He performed all the rites as per Hindu tradition and cremated Santosh’s body.

“Religion should not become a barrier in friendship,” Razzak was quoted telling Catch News.

This certainly leaves us with one thought – is it really so difficult to keep religion aside and believe in the power of love and friendship. Well, with Razzak’s live example it doesn’t seem like it.

Parineeti, Kalki, Richa And Bhumi Are Getting Ready To Rock In YRF’s New ‘Man’s World’

Men dream of being treated in the best possible way by women. But what happens if women treated men, the same way men treat women? This is exactly what a new Y-Films web series is all about.

The comic satire titled Man’s World is the biggest multi-starrer series on the internet yet. Made by the youth division of Yash Raj Films, it aims at promoting gender equality in India to support the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development campaign. If that wasn’t enough to impress you, the four-part series features some of the biggest names associated with the cause, namely Parineeti Chopra, Kalki Koechlin, Richa Chadda, Soni Razdan, Pritish Nandy, Bhumi Pednekar, Cyrus Sahukar, Anupama Chopra, Meiyang Chang and RJ Malishka.

Kiran, the protagonist, believes the world is unfair to men. But a role reversal takes place and the world ‘flips’ over. After he faces gender discrimination as a man, Kiran realises how unequal, uncomfortable and unfair the treatment meted out to women is.

A heavy dose in every manner, we can’t wait for the first part to premier on the Y-films’ YouTube channel on September 29th. The second one will be out on October 1st, third on October 6th, and the final one on October 8th.

Meanwhile check out this awesome trailer.

This Scene From ‘Namstey London’ Gives Me The Goosebumps Everytime I Watch It. Too Good

We all love our country, don’t we? And we all love Bollywood. Certain movies have iconic scenes that make you feel proud to be an Indian. India, or when Sunny Deol refuses to bow down to Pakistan in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, all these scenes just fill your heart with pride.

Namastey London has one such scene too. And this scene is enough to light a patriotic fire within every Indian. Watch the scene that proves why ‘saare jahaan se accha, Hindustan humara’:

India is not just a land of snake charmers, which many ignorant foreigners still believe. We are proud of our country and for good reason. No matter where we are in the world, we do not forget our roots.
